The New Toonami Ratings Thread (now with more civility!)

Toonami last week:

12:00a Rooster Fighter - 172k
12:30a Dan Da Dan - 138k
1:00a Blue Lock - 97k
1:30a Tokyo Revengers - 73k
2:00a One Piece - 64k
2:30a Ninja Kamui - 53k
3:00a Superman - 49k
3:30a Rooster Fighter - 57k
4/8: Good to see RF back up to 170k.

4/16: Apologies for the double-post and for being that guy but are the ratings available yet?

Be patient, Markus knows people wanna know so he will update us when he can.

Ratings are not always available on certain days. They'll be here by tomorrow. Please be patient. It's out of my control. When they publish them, I will post them as soon as I can. However I can't do that quickly always since I have other things to do as well.

4/16: They said that the ratings come by the end of the week publicly to subscribers just to make things clear.

4/23: I couldn't get numbers from over a week ago.

Here's last week's ratings:
Rooster Fighter 12a - 214k
Dan Da Dan 12:30a - 196k
Blue Lock 1a - 179k
Tokyo Revengers 1:30a - 160k
One Piece 2a - 145k
Ninja Kamui 2:30a - 121k
Superman 3a - 127k
Rooster Fighter - 3:30a - 117k

Good numbers throughout the night. RF again proving it's success by getting over 300k in total. Finally a show that doesn't flop.

Mod note: Double post merged.

100k+ all night! 200k+ for Rooster Fighter! Great night!

2026 ratings have been putting 2025 ratings to shame so far. There’s been some off weeks, but we’ve been on the up these past months generally. This is the first year in over a decade you could say that. I suppose it is true that traditional TV is seeing a slight recovery now, so it is to be expected. Still, the block is doing quite well for itself.

It has to do with recently launched cheaper packages now. Especially YouTube TV which is great. Another thing is that streaming is also starting to get expensive. People can as well watch cable for even more content.

Rooster Fighter was the little show that could. It synergizes with the rest of the shows really well.

I think what's also helping Rooster Fighter is even with its goofy premise, it's still basically a shonen series at heart and those usually do well on Toonami. Plus, one of the rare times where Toonami is getting the world premiere with the episodes as I believe Japan is a couple episodes behind.

If I were Jason de Marco or whoever is in charge right now I would renew Rooster Fighter.

It helps that we actually have a schedule with shows on it. At this time last year, Toonami was in a giga drought and was almost all reruns, and we were only just seeing a shift with Lazarus starting.

Schedule wise, this year has not had any dry periods yet. And since BL and TR are so long, we may even reach years end without any long term droughts.

If I were Jason de Marco or whoever is in charge right now I would renew Rooster Fighter.
Not their call to make, Rooster Fighter is not a Toonami original.

Obviously ratings are better compared to a year ago, but even with the blockbuster lineup later in the year, ratings were far lower than they are now. The block is just objectively doing better.

It's Viz's call, but I SERIOUSLY hope they do. It's been really fun, and there's still plenty to adapt I'm pretty sure.

This has to be the first time being an Adult Swim Premiere hasnt backfired. Even with the clunky CGI this is a legit big hit, and its a hit in Latin America too.

Not really the first. Space Dandy was an [adult swim] premiere (not made by them, but neither was Rooster Fighter) and that was quite popular. Ninja Kamui did so good that we're getting two more seasons of it.

The only issue is they might not have enough for a season 2 so they'll have to wait until enough chapters have come out. There's only 12 collected volumes as of now and the season is halfway and they're into volume 4 material right now.

The trick seems to be not allowing Demarco or AS to have any creative involvement. This is Viz’s project that AS fronted a little money for in exchange for premier rights. Doesn’t have Demarco smearing his stink on it like he has done with all the AS originals.

Last week;

Rooster Fighter - 175k
Dan Da Dan - 154k
Blue Lock - 128k
Tokyo Revengers - 141k
On Piece - 104k
Ninja Kamui - 107k
Superman - 117k
Rooster Fighter - 64k

It’s interesting how much of an outlier the week where One Piece beat midnight was. It’s doing worse than the 2:30 and 3:00 reruns, and only beat Rooster Fighter encore at 3:30. Still, over 100,000 for that late at night in 2026 isn’t bad. The overall lineup seems stable. I’m always happy when I see Tokyo Revengers beating Blue Lock. Now if only they’d move it up a little in the schedule.

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
