The "What'cha Been Playin'?" Thread

I've been playing a lot of a new Pou game called "Cliff Dash".
Recently, I''ve been trying to play some more "Food Drop", because I didn't play it well and I imastered it.
Pou is some app which looks like Tamagotchi.

Been in a bit of a slump with the fighting games as of late (probably because my brother-in-law left). Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike and Guilty Gear XX: AC+R are the only games that interest me at the moment. A shame too, because Street Fighter x Tekken is a really good game (along with Super Street Fighter 4), but I can't bring myself to care about those games at the moment.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for GGXXAC+R to come out on the PSN. For ASW to be taking so long with the re-release, I hope they are addressing the netcode. I know they recently had an announcement recently stating that Xrd was taking up most of their time. But still, I do hope they give it Persona 4 Arena's netcode.

As for what I'm playing now. Mass Effect (PS3) will probably take up the bulk of my gaming time since I'm gonna get back to finishing the series up (still haven't finished ME2, nor have I started ME3). After that, probably go back to re-playing either the Devil May Cry or Metal Gear Solid games since I've been neglecting them for so long.

I do hope to get my hands on Warriors Orochi 3 on the PS3 as well since I never finished that game either.

So, I found Code Veronica X, RE 0, REmake, the GameCube versions of RE 2 and 3, and both Resident Evil Outbreaks.

Plowed through Code Veronica already. Still as awesome as ever, but for some reason this has alway been the one I'm most likely to get hopelessly lost on without a clue of where to go, and I got stuck a few times with aimless wandering before I figured it out. Also, I forgot that the last fight is just a cutscene. I was all hyped to blow the hell out of Wesker, but I had to be satisfied with just watching Chris scar his face and hurt his feelings.

Now I'm near the end of RE 0 and I'm remembering why it's one of my least favorites. They might have thought that getting rid of item boxes was more realistic, but what it creates in practice is an item-management nightmare. You can drop stuff, so basically you end up finding a save room and just littering the floor with crap. But you can only drop so much in one room, so at one point I had three connecting rooms with junk laying about. That's tidy and convenient. There's also a lot backtracking because you have to go all the way back to where you dropped something to get it. And you have to make runs a couple of times specifically to shift all of your needed items to more convenient locations, then drop the on the floor there. It's just a mess, which is a shame because it's a pretty game with a nice challenge and an okay story.

The bosses are a bit uninspired, though. For plot reasons they follow RE 1 where most of them are just huge animals, but huge animals aren't that scary. And the early version of the coop system had a lot of kinks to work out. A partner is often a hindrance, because they don't do a good job of defending themselves, and they will actually get in your way when you're trying to do things like push a block.

Next will probably be REmake, but because I so recently played the original RE I might use the infinite rocket launcher I unlocked the last time I played to speed through it. It was hard to get, might as well use it.

Then I may take a crack at the Outbreaks, but they're really hard and frustrating for me in solo play so I don't know how far I'll get in the,.

Online, I've been playing to a lot of FlyOrDie's GemJam. I play some online game for days and then I change it when I feel tired of it.

Just finished playing ClickPlay Time 2 and 3. It's been a long time since I played Ninjadoodle games.

I just rediscovered Hamnster, which used to be available pretty much all over the internet. By the time of Nonoba's closure, the game was hard to findD, and the only way to play is by going to Jhelle's website.

I've finally tried out the new Tomb Raider. It's quite an impressive game. And a lot longer than I thought it would be. Between that and New Super Luigi U, I've gotten to play some really quality games over the holidays.

Just played "Where am I?" on Armor Games. It's a fun game where you have to find the way out by hitting on colored blocks.

Just played an original maze game called "Forget me Not" on Armor Games. Very original and reminds me of some Nitrome game called Rainbogeddon.

Playing FireRed while my sister plays LeafGreen. You can't always have plans on Friday nights.

Yesterday night, I tried out a "new" Nitrome game called Cheese Dreams: New Moon. It's pretty short (only 10 levels!) but I got stuck at some point on level 2.
The word "New" is in quotations because it's been a long time since I played a Nitrome game.

Just continued playing Cheese Dreams: New Moon. I finally found the way to go to level 3!
Then I played Rainbogeddon. It's fun and addicting.

I'm back on campus now, away from my Xbox 360. It was fun while it lasted. At least I have my iPad, with which I've been playing Clash of Clans, Jetpack Joyride, Candy Crush Saga, Angry Birds Go, and Tiny Thief.

I'm doing well in Clash of Clans. I've upgraded my buildings, built better defenses, joined a clan, unlocked aerial troopers, and started to raid bigger fortresses. With proper planning, my army can utterly demolish decently fortified forts stocked with a lot of gold and elixirs. I've also rearranged my fort so that my resources and defenses are completely surrounded by walls, while my more expendable buildings are outside the walls along with traps.. It's a much better defense plan, but it won't stop a determined player with a powerful enough army; as that happens once in a while. However, I'm always improving and so is my fortress.

Now I played JJJump! Unfortunately, I couldn't finish level 10.

I'm playing more Rainbogeddon now. I got thorugh a lot of levels yesterday night.

Almost finished playing Cheese Dreams: New Moon. The final level had a hard part...
Now I'm playing Toxic 2.

A couple of hours ago, I completed Rainbogeddon. I like the image of the main character thinking about a rainbow at a psychiatric.
I also played some Silly Sausage and Mega Mash. The cocept of a currupted cartridge as a game is one of the most original ideas I have ever seen.

On my iPad, I'm playing Clash of Clans, Puddle, Candy Crush Saga, and Where's my Mickey?.

I'm doing very well in Clash of Clans. I upgraded my common troops using my laboratory; now they're harder, better, faster, and stronger than before. I've also been tackling stronger forts and razing them to the ground thanks to my better troops. I redesigned my fort again so I can build a second wall around my town center. I'm constantly upgrading my resource producers and storage units so I can more resources faster because I can never have enough gold and elixir. My new clan is also very friendly and generous; giving me extra reinforcements as long as I do the same to them.

Puddle is a physics based game where you guide various liquids to their destination by tilting the world. You start off with simple water that evaporates when heated. Later liquids are more interesting, such as oil, weed killer, fertilizer, and nitroglycerin to name a few. Oil is thick and burns in fire, weed killer kills plants, fertilizer makes plants grow, and nitroglycerin explodes if handled to roughly or if it touches something hot. Unfortunately, it also crashes at times when you try to start a level, buy I'm persistent.

I finally beat this hard level in Candy Crush Saga. It took skill and chance to beat it. Not to mention a power-up to get that last jelly cube I couldn't reach. Now I'm on levels that require me to make certain matches. The first few were easy matching candies of certain colors. Now I'm stuck again on a level that requires me to match two striped candies together five times. Making striped candy isn't hard, just match four same colored candies together to make one. However trying to get two striped candies side-by-side is not easy. As always, I'm persistent.

Where's my Mickey? is water-based physics game that is a spinoff of Where's my Water?. Basically, you try to get water to Mickey Mouse so he do some task. It was the Free App of the Week, so I downloaded it. It's pretty good and has different elements from Where's my Water?, such as clouds that absorb water and rain when you touch them. Later levels require payment to play, so I'm not going to do that.

Well, I did it. After many, many, many hours and five or six restarts, I finally finished Fallout New Vegas. It was an amazing, epic, unforgettable experience with the most incredible, mind-blowing finale I've ever seen in a videogame. There aren't enough adjectives in the English language to properly describe the magnitude of what Bethesda accomplished here and if I had to pick just one game to take with me to a desert island, I think this would be it. If you've never played this one, you owe it to yourself to pick it up as soon as possible. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I'm finally nearing the end of my complete playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy with all DLC content, which is actually a first since I'm playing on the Playstation 3. For a completely different experience as far as gameplay goes, I rolled an Infiltrator class "FemShep" - the direct opposite of the in-your-face, close combat-oriented Vanguard, pretty much. My approach was simple: go all-in on being a sci-fi sniper. The results have been glorious. With the proper gear, what you don't take down in one or two shots can be evaded with the tactical cloak. Stack damage bonuses on your equipment and talents and the damage output is absolutely amazing - so long as you don't miss. Mass Effect 3 is kindest to snipers by far thanks to available upgrades and modifications and the option of saving up for the Black Widow from the Spectre terminal on the Citadel, which has extremely high damage and a three shot clip before you have to reload. Even the toughest enemies don't withstand that well. Every now and again I take down groups that don't even get to try shooting me. Oh, and those Cerberus Guardians with the shields? My upgraded and modded rifle punches right through those too. Snipers rock.

I still enjoy the story a lot. The time is getting close where I'll finally see just what's changed with the "Extended Cut" Bioware put out for the grand finale, but first there's still some of the Omega DLC and then the "Citadel" content they did for a last hurrah. Then it's the final stretch.

In my prior playthrough I was going full Paragon, whereas this time my Shepard was meant to be one that started out that way and then gets more hardcore and desperate when the Reaper invasion hits, and is also less apt to take crap from others. The exception has been decisions and comments concerning casualties...I have trouble picturing or wanting to play a Shepard that's all "yeah, whatever, screw those casualties over there, I'm gonna get the job done". She's out to save the galaxy from the Reapers (and itself), dammit! That's my Shep.

On another note, it actually seems viable to roll a Shepard that's all about melee combat instead of shooting in Mass Effect 3, counterintuitive as that sounds. Vanguards and Sentinels could definitely get away with it I think. Props to anyone that pulls that off.

On review the original Mass Effect holds up OK, but I'd never try doing everything in that game a second time. Only what is necessary. The Mako is HORRIBLE. Aagghh.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
