The "What'cha Been Playin'?" Thread

Picked up Awakening again with the objective of getting every Support conversation. So far so good, the conversations are so good that make me love units I once felt indifferent towards (like Miriel or Henry).

I just picked up Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (I'm late I know) and have just been playing it like crazy

I finally got my ps4 along with Batman Arkham Knight (I actually had since AK came out), I haven't even begun playing it because of wi-fi issues in my house. Yeah, I know it shouldn't stop me from actually playing the game, but I still don't want nothing to not work properly either (my job has literally turned me into a perfectionist).

Anyway, still playing my fighting games, namely USF4 (X360) but when I get a new modem/router I'll also go back to 3rd Strike, and finally start up Batman.

I got Gundam Breaker 2 and have sunk several hours into it already. Very, very fun.

With my new and more powerful computer, PC gaming has never been so much fun for me. Everything consistently runs at 60 frames on high quality now. I've been playing Awesomenauts, Team Fortress 2, Super Time Force Ultra, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and HAWKEN for the past few weeks and it's been so much fun! I never want to play on my old computer again.

Warrior's Orochi 3 Ultimate
A little shocked to see some of the newer faces in the game. Also got past the fight against the Hydra with ease this time around. When I was playing on the ps3 I had quite a hard time trying to defeat that thing with that gun.

Susano'o and Orochi still scare me though. They strike way more fear in me than Lu Bu ever has.

I just pre-ordered Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain. Hopefully I'll be able to separate myself from Street Fighter long enough to play this game (already receiving 10's)

Assetto Corsa, multiplayer mode. I love racing online in this in spite of some people not driving a clean race.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
I love the predecessor to this a bit more, cause the seals in this one annoy me.
I also hate that to break ice, you need to use the touch screen, none of the bullet or guardian spirits, or weapons work.

Alternating between Ace Attorney Investigations and Kingdom Hearts reMix on Proud Mode. Also spending some time while listening to podcasts to chip away at the max out lives goal in New Super Mario Bros. 2. Don't think I'll stick around to the million coin goal, but if I ever have a lot of time on my hands...

I've been playing Pullblox on the 3DS, it's a really good game.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate
The Musou style games are great stress relievers (sometimes they don't work either) and also great at killing time. Tackled roughly 4 missions last night/this morning and next thing I knew it was 3-4:00. Anyway, I unlocked 2 of the demon characters. Haven't used any of them yet, and probably don't plan to either. I'm also gonna start a team of Liu Bei, Sun Jian, and probably Cao Cao, or Oda Nobunaga just to have a team like that.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
To talk about this game I feel like I'll be spoiling it if I were to say anything, so I'll just say this game is a blast. GOTY for sure, and perhaps a contender for that GOAT for me.

Ultra Street Fighter 4
Finally got to play this on the PS4, but only in training mode. It sucks that you have to be a PS Plus member to go online (even look at the leader boards). It feels good, but feel different with the ps4 controller. Tried out Dudley and Ryu so far. Thought I was losing my mind for a minute when I couldn't FADC Ultra as Ryu, which I completely forgot to set everything up in training mode. Dudley on the other hand, I'm hitting his basic bnb more consistently now as well. Gonna try out Evil Ryu next. Mainly gonna be playing as Dudley and Evil Ryu for the most part. They have damaging combos. They have awesome costumes/colors. Normals that kinda make you flinch when you see/hear the impact. You can style with them, and then they both have this weird pass through glitch that just looks ridiculous and I like that. Ibuki is the only other character I've seen to do it as well, and I may add her or Yun to the characters I'll play. We'll see.

Megaman Legacy Collection, which has apparently comited the cardinal sin of being TOO console accurate for the unwashed masses in the Steam forums.

USF4
"Sigh" as much as I love this game the online community really know how to kill my interest. Go to play against random people and either deal with rage quitters or whiners. Then you go to watch matches or whatnot and people seem to love to hate in the comment section as well and it's like "good God" can't really deal with this crowd too much anymore.

Warrior's Orochi 3 Ultimate
Beat Orochi and finally getting to the second part of the new stuff. A couple of things I'm not understanding though is the big star weapons. They cost so much and you can't even choose to buy them, and they start of with weak ATK points. And then I'm not understanding the point of promoting a character. Aren't you basically starting over from lvl 1?

BlazBlue, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, Guilty Gear Xrd
While I'm not necessarily playing these games yet, I am studying match videos. I love the freedom these 3 games allow you to have.

I played more Gundam Breaker 2 recently and had a mission come up where G Gundam ace units showed up and the Shining Finger music played.

Very good.

I've gotten back into Awesomenauts hard. I've been playing this a lot and been getting an even amount of wins and losses. It mostly depends on how united my team is and the other team as well. There have been a lot more rage quitters and salty teammates, but once I'm in a match, I don't leave until the match is over. Heck, sometimes the bots that replace the quitters are more competent and can turn the tide. :p

I've gotten better at Brawlhalla. For this game, I use the same strategy I use in Super Smash Bros: be slippery and sneak in hard hits.

Dark Souls has been kicking my butt, no big surprise. The messages people leave are really handy and led me to a powerful weapon early in the game. Even with it, I'm still struggling against the Belfry Gargoyles, but I'm getting close.

I'm still having fun in Awesomenauts, even when I'm losing. In one match that I was losing, I asked everyone if they were having fun and the enemy team complemented me for being a cool sport. One of them even sent me a friend request so we can join each other's matches! In the salty sea that is the MOBA community, being a good sport really makes you stand out.

I've also been getting deep into Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The atmosphere is great and paranoia-inducing. Even when there's no danger, you hear sounds that make you want to stay alert. The most intense part so far was my first encounter with the water monster. Unlike the other monsters, the water monster never leaves, so you have to be extra careful during the water parts.

I fired up Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 today and did a skirmish just for fun. Rocketeers are very overpowered.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3
I'm bouncing back and forth with this game. I like it, but at the same time there are some things that really bothers me. I know there isn't a level cap until you hit lvl 50, but for some reason it seems like these characters already hit their cap and the highest right now is Zoro being at lvl 40. I go back to previous stages I've beaten before and no one levels up. I can imagine going back to the beginning levels just being a waste of time, but when you hit the stages where it's recommended to be in the 20's, should be able to gain at least 1 lvl, but, nothing.

Edit:
Pretty much answered my own concern. When you hit 40, you might as well keep on repeating the lvl you've last completed, otherwise it'll take forever to gain any lvls.

Ultra Street Fighter 4
Little bit of training mode and decided to go through arcade mode for a little bit. Played as Ryu, Ken and Dudley. Has some issues as Dudley. My goodness, even though he's my main, my brain turned off, and to play against Hakan is ridiculous. It's cool though. I just need to learn how to play without turning off my brain lol. Good times.

BlazBlue Chrono Phantasm Extend also arrived in the mail so I may fire that up some time this week along with GGxrd.

I need to get a fightstick for the ps4 though. My thumb hurt entirely too much to be playing these fighting games.

Edit2:

On top of needing to get a new fightstick, and I know it's mainly because I have to practice, but the fact that I can't consistently get a Z motion on the controller (analog) is really ruining my day. On the d-pad I can, but again it kills my thumb. Heck, just dashing kills my thumb. Need to start saving money for that stick.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
