When Karai is captured by Bishop, he tries to bribe the Oroku Saki into turning over all his alien technology. Saki sends Hun to rescue Karai as a last chance to redeem himself.

Oh.....my.....god!

This has to be the best episode of TMNT that I've seen in months, probably even THE best.

Yeah, I know the turtles take a backseat role in this episode but the episode with Hun performing the rescue, the fight between Hun and Bishop on the subway, and fight choreography in this episode has to be some of the best I've ever seen.

Man, seeing Hun go postal in rescuing Karai just made me go...

5 stars man! :D

A really good episode. Hun is probably my favorite original character for this series and it has nice that he had an episode this season. I have been liking the way his charcter was going and it is nice to see he has redeamed himself a little in the Shredder's eyes.

Oh next weeks looks screwed up to say the least.

Yeah, next week the turtles go all Fantastic Four or something with superhero roles. Hopefully, it is just a parody of superheroes and not something the turtles will be doing on a semi-basis.

Wait, they actually aired the episode? On the schedule page it had them airing double F-zero.

I already saw the episode on Cartoon Network a few weeks ago so it's not a big deal, but I would have liked to see it again. I had no idea they were airing it.

When I saw "Hun on the Run" on CN it did indeed kick ass.

For one thing there were many implied deaths in this episode. When Hun shot the rocket launcher into the helicopter, as well as Hun shooting his machine gun at the guards, etc.

Of course the final fight scene was excellent. It seems any fight Bishop is in is very well done, I was surprised that Hun was strong enough to actually keep up with him. Excellent episode.

Yeah, the way Bishop owned Hun in this episode was just...

And some parts of the fight looked really really painful like Bishop yanking back on Hun's ponytail and swinging him into the walls or bashing his shoulder against the poles. OUCH!!! :ack:

It was pretty good. The fights were entertaining. Bishop is still as crazy-good a fighter as before. You'd never expect that guy to be able to do all that stuff. It's too bad about what happened to Raph's bike. I wonder what Donatello's going to do with the train car.

I'm almost sorry I only watch this show sometimes. I have no idea who Bishop is supposed to be, but DAMN, was this a cool episode.

This has got to be the best (non-anime) cartoon on TV right now. Though I have no idea what to make of next week's episode...

If you mean this is the only show you watch on 4KidsTV, then you're not alone! ;)

I don't think we're supposed to! :p

That isn't what I meant... But yeah, that's true too- Ever since the loss of Fox Kids (Saban... We shall miss ye...), and on that same note, the loss of decent programming on Kids WB, Saturday Mornings have meant less and less for me... After the first season of Shaman King, all I WATCH anymore is TMNT (sometimes) and The Batman (sometimes). YGO? One Piece? Pokemon? F Zero? Sonic X? Please.

This really was just a great, solid episode. The plot was good and the fight scenes were truly awesome.

I saw parts of this back when it debuted on CN, so it did kinda ruin the experience a little bit 'cause I wished I had seen it all at once. Still, it was a great fight between Hun and Bishop, made even better when the Turtles got involved in the mix. Did I mention Bishop kicks tail? I really hope the show is shaping up for a Bishop vs. Shredder battle at the end of the season, 'cause that would be really sweet!

High-end 8 out of 10 for "Hun on the Run."

(Either 4KidsTV changed their schedule at the last minute or TZ got the wrong schedule. I was kinda suspecting this was gonna air after the ads [from last week] and the bumper this morning during 'Winx' [you know, when they tell you what you're watching and what two shows are coming up next]... usually when they deviate from their normal schedule for a week, they don't run those bumpers.)

There are many reasons why Bishop kicks so much ass. The shades, the voice, the fighting style. But I think the coolest thing about him is he is able to pull off all of those moves in a suit and tie. Suits aren't exactly made for brawling but Bishop kicks ass anyways and looks stylin' doing it.

If we don't eventually get a Bishop/Shredder showdown it will be the biggest injustice in cartoon history.

Oh, and the episode? Fantastic. It was a great idea to have an episode with Hun as the protagonist. I get the feeling he doesn't really deserve the hairy eyeball Saki has been giving him lately and it was nice that he redeemed himself here. (At least Saki acknowledged how loyal Hun was to him this ep.)

Couldn't ask for a better episode. Perfect. *****.

You know, I've always liked episodes where the protagonists take a backseat to the villains. This has been the second one this season (New Blood being the first) and it does not dissapoint. Plus, Bishop is always welcome.

Random stuff:

So Karai is officially Oroku Saki's (adopted) daughter--interesting, and it gives insight into Hun's contempt for her. She's the doted-on daughter, the one shown off at all parties; Hun is the bastard child, who cannot be seen in public. Thing is, Hun is by far the more loyal heir, while Karai is the biblical prodigal son.

So it begins: The Foot was bound to run into DARPA/Earth Protection Forces eventually. It's interesting: Bishop knows the basics, but not the specifics; he's basically one step above reporter in New Blood when it comes to info (speaking of, I rewatched Hunted recently, and I noticed the reporter among the ones in the "Key to the city" snippet. Nice work). The Foot knows of DARPA, but apparently doesn't know who runs it (if Bishop is indeed the one running things; the chess motiv suggests he isn't).

Something that I've really appreciated and was highlighted in this episode is how the characters have developed different fighting styles. Bishop, for example, likes using everything available as a weapon. Hun does the same, but more crudely, and relies more on his punches. Karai has crazy chain/katana combos. Raph likes to use his sai as projectiles, and is usually the one watching his brothers' backs.

If we don't eventually get a Bishop/Shredder showdown it will be the biggest injustice in cartoon history.
Even moreso than TOaFT pt.2, Fone Bone? ;) Actually, I'd rather not see them duke it out. From what we've seen, Bishop fights only when forced to (notice that his first instinct once he faces Hun is to just run away). I really can't imagine a situation where they'd both meet, especially with the Shredders' current low profile.

Speaking of, it just dawned on me: Space Invaders cameo aside, we haven't seen The Shredder all season. Cool. I like that the writers know how not to overuse the characters.

Also, something I came up with a few weeks ago. The Foot? So totally Wolfram & Hart.

Point taken.

I can see that. Does that mean the Turtles will be running it in the fifth season?

You know, if I had my way with the series, then yes. In my mind, it just feels like the natural evolution of the Karai/Turtles relationship.

Deep Thoughts: 2/08 Tue - TMNT2k3

Copied from my post in CN's TMNT2k3 talkback:

1. Finally, Bishop and Shredder meet. Finally, somebody who has the resources that could match Shredder's wealth. It's like Batman vs. Amanda Waller (JLU). :)

2. Well, Bishop doesn't seem to know about the Utroms, so he doesn't know everything about the Shredder.

3. Well, Baxter, of course Shredder will know it's you anyways later when he finds out you freed yourself from the chains. You should had started running the moment you got free.

4. Well, Hun, if you didn't want the Turtles to follow you, you should had broken their van (e.g. quickly yank off the steering wheel) before stealing Raphael's bike.

5. Heh, Hun = Rambo? :D

6. Bishop sure was overly fixated with Kirai: calling her pretty a couple times, even holding around her hands showing her how to better swing a sword, and even reaching over her left chest. Can't Leo get a break?! :anime:

7. Kirai sitting on Leo's lap though made a cute couple. :o

8. OK, Bishop >>> Shredder. Shredder already has too much trouble with just 4 Turtles, while Bishop was all composed throughout his battle with 4 Turtles, Rambo Hun, and pretty Kirai.

8b. So that leaves the only interesting matchup left unfinished: Bishop vs. former Battle Nexus champ Splinter. Even more impressive if Bishop is all-human; thus, both he and Splinter can organically kick ass.

9. Heheh, finally Kirai got to kick Hun's ass.
(Though, wouldn't Hun start suspecting more that Kirai might be protecting the Turtles, especially that the Turtles freed her?)

> Well, Bishop doesn't seem to know about the Utroms, so he doesn't know everything about the Shredder. <

Or maybe Bishop does know, but isn't saying- that'd be just like him.
The way he singlehandedly held off six superb fighters makes it clear he's no ordinary human.

> Though, wouldn't Hun start suspecting more that Kirai might be protecting the Turtles, especially that the Turtles freed her? <

In this particular instance, Kirai could claim she'd defended the Turtles as a matter of honor, since they'd just helped save her life. And Hun might figure the Turtles came to her aid because, being Good guys, they help everybody (suckers!)

It's a very safe bet that neither Hun nor Kirai is going to mention the TMNT's involvement to Shedder- Hun won't want to admit he had help with the rescue, and Kirai doesn't want her loyalty called into question.

Something I forgot to mention before. Hun's car? I want it. Coolest vehicle evah!

I'm a big Ninja Turtles fan, and I watch it every week whenever it's new, it's just that I keep forgetting to post in the talkback topics, so don't think I watch it occasionally! I like it almost as I like Pokemon, which is a lot.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that this episode had the best, best fight scene I've scene in almost any show. For me, it was as good as the best battles from Pokemon and most of the fights in Teen Titans.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
