Anyway, like I said, casual viewers wouldn't critically analyze Sailor Moon's dub the same way hardcore anime fans do. Fans would still watch out of nostalgia. Not only that, but Toonami doesn't necessarily take a dub's quality into consideration. You're talking about the same people who aired the dub of Cardcaptors and 4kids One Piece. Then again, like you said, the old Sailor Moon anime will probably never air here again anyway.

It's not even noticing the kind of changes in the dub that hardcore anime fans do that makes me think that it wouldn't appeal to casual fans. I was primarily thinking of just the voice acting and any lines strange enough to even someone who isn't that familiar with anime. I know that the original Toonami block didn't take the quality of dubs into consideration, but since Toonami is aimed at an older audience now and how the shows are picked, I think that the quality of the dub would be taken into account as well. Based on what little I remember of the DIC Sailor Moon dub, I really don't think it would fit on Toonami. It does have nostalgic appeal, but I think that the quality of the dub would eventually wear out any kind of nostalgic flare it would have.

Though, all of that seems rather moot at this point when I seriously doubt that Toei, Naoko Takeuchi and whoever eventually gets the license will want that dub to be on the air again. If Sailor Moon does end up on Toonami one day, the chances are excellent that it will be the new series since Funimation, or whoever gets the license, will want to put more focus on that series. The older series might air on Toonami, but as a redub and even then, I think that there's a better chance that Funimation, if they do get the license, will just release the redubbed episodes on DVD.

I keep saying all the Sailor Moon requests need to be turned into Madoka requests.

Madoka on Toonami would be pretty awesome and I'd like to see the dub air there. It does have a strong fanbase, which could lead into more ratings for the block. Though, it's probably too expensive for their budget right now.

Actually, the dub of S and Super S handled under Cloverway was produced Uncut. Same with the three movies. These were given bilingual DVD releases.

Fair enough with Season 3 and 4, but Season 1 and 2 are still considerably edited from the original season (the DiC dub I'm talking about). There is no way Toonami would ever air the DiC dub because it's too young for the audience it's trying to cater to nowadays. It's also why if 4Kids still had the right to One Piece, that it would never touch Adult Swim's Toonami, because their dubbing aims at kids and would not reach the TV-PG standards.

Concerning Sailor Moon, not even factoring in the dub being in licensing hell, I think they should hold off on it anyways. Remember, there's a new Sailor Moon series being planned for next year; by the time it gets licensed (and you can bet someone is going to license it), the budget might not even be as strict a factor as it is now.

Zatch Bell is a surprise, but it does hold a place in the minds of the current teen audience (in fact, those who did fall in the 6-11 age range back in 2005 are now 13-18). However, it really doesn't feel like it could fit at all on Adult Swim, not to mention that it never got an uncut dub (There were listings for an uncut DVD release, but it never came about and I doubt they recorded any uncut episodes). Oh, and they didn't even finish dubbing the series.

Yu Yu Hakusho is the most likely option. It's been around for years (thus it's likely cheaper than newer shows), isn't near as high-profile as DBZ (which also means it'd be cheaper), is very short compared to the top three suggested shows, and is nostalgic to both Toonami and Adult Swim audiences, Perfect acquisition material.

One tiny thing that DBZ requesters have in their favor is that Toonami technically didn't air every episode. This is because when Toonami started their run of the Uncut Redub of Seasons 1 and 2 (which has about 14 episodes of previous cut content) , this run was interrupted about 12 episodes in and replaced with the old edited Ocean dub.

However, the reason this happened was that the ratings were reportedly bad. Either it was the slow pacing of the training episodes that turned viewers off, the 7pm timeslot, or simply because all of DBZ Uncut had just aired on weeknights.

Granted, I personally don't think this is enough of a reason for Toonami to air DBZ again, but it's still a factor worth mentioning.

That's certainly possible, especially when it might take awhile for a dub to be ready for the new Sailor Moon series. Plus, I imagine that whoever gets the license would want the series to air on TV, so they could work something out with Toonami if their budget size was still problematic.

I doubt the remake would air on Nicktoons, seeing as they have even stricter standards for cuts than regular CN. Cartoon Network I could see since they are more relaxed on cuts. Not to mention the dub butchered the series so much that it was taken off international markets for a very long time AND this remake is made for the older audience. I can't see any other place than Cartoon Network or Adult Swim (or whoever allows a TV-PG ratings for cartoon shows).

Personally, I can't really see the new Sailor Moon series airing on the Vortexx, Nicktoons or Disney XD. They'll probably want the new series to have more exposure than Nicktoons or Disney XD could provide, especially when I don't think that Disney XD is that interested in airing anime right now. Although I could see Nicktoons airing another established anime series, I'm not sure if that would be better than going for a channel that is in more homes like Cartoon Network. I don't think that they'll want to go with the Vortexx since that would require more edits for the dub than they'd probably prefer. While I don't think that they would have as much problems with an edited dub as long as the DVDs were uncut, given some of the content of the series, I think that they would make the same kind of changes as the later portions of the series did. Regular Cartoon Network is a possibility considering that it was a popular show for them back in the day, but since they aren't that interested in non-toyetic anime series at the moment, I still think that Toonami probably has the best chance at the moment.

Granted, we don't know much about the series or if it is made for an older audience, although I think it will be made for both new and long time fans in mind, but if they have the choice, I'd image that they would prefer a dub with as little edits as possible, which would give Toonami a significant edge over all of the other possibilities.

Considering the fact that the new Sailor Moon is set to be "darker and grittier" anyway, I can't see it going anywhere but Toonami should it end up on US TV.

What would be considered a success for Naruto uncut as far as ratings? I mean, I know they're not expecting the old ratings whatever they were, 2.0 or higher Im assuming, but when it airs in its time slot,whats considered a success? Like higher than a million I'm assuming?

I don't know if they would go for Rave Master when it pretty much has a gag dub, although that didn't stop them from airing it on that anime block on Syfy for some reason. It was entertaining to watch from what I remember, but probably not something that would fit the block. Teen Titans might be fun as another possible light hearted show, but I don't know if it has that much appeal to the adult crowd.

One show I'd really like them to air is Blue Dragon. Unlike Zatch Bell, it has 104 uncut episodes that have never aired anywhere, and only the first 24 episodes of the first series were released on DVD in the UK.

Teen Titans does have a new show, too. But it's more of a comedy. If they get something that's also on dc nation, it's probably the new Batman show.

Ugh. No thank you. The dub and editing are 4Kids levels of atrocious and there's no uncut version, not even on DVD. (Thanks, Tokyopop!)

It also already aired on the original CN Toonami before Syfy picked it up. There's no point in getting it again.
