S**t. So much for throwing in a couple episodes of Trigun with the movie.

I'm kind of fine with that. I was thinking that they would have another couple of lackluster surprises when the schedule listed Trigun Badlands going on until 3AM. Although, a couple of episodes of Trigun after the movie would have been awesome, but I'm content with just the movie. It will hopefully be a fun watch.

Trigun is definitely a fun series, so I'm excited for the movie, too. As for Bebop, maybe they're figuring that if they can't get the HD rights to it, they'll have it go out with a BANG or something.

Jason said the decision to do a Bebop marathon was to hype up Space Dandy, since they're both Watanabe shows.

Between Space Dandy, Interstellar, & No Man's Sky, 2014 seems to be the year of retro sci-fi.

I know I do!

Sword Art Online gets way too much hate. Some series get that even though they do really well. It's like Toonami's Johnny Test counterpart. I don't think the writing of Sword Art Online is very good, but the show gets good ratings and helps the block, so why be so harsh on it? It's okay to not like it but people let other people enjoy it. And it was never going to stay for nore than those 25 episodes so why complain when it does as good as One Piece or Soul Eater. All it does is strengthen Toonami, which we all want, as well as make the relationship between Toonami and Aniplex better, which will lead to more of their series coming on. I'm sure we all have something we want there.

Just because the show gets good ratings and helps the block doesn't make it any better or excuse its poor writing. I don't think that's a good enough reason to not express our thoughts on any show. I don't think anyone here has a problem with other people liking the show, or at least I don't, since the criticism is focused on the show rather than the people who like it. While I do hope that its success leads them to get better shows from Aniplex, that doesn't make the show itself any better and just because it does as well as One Piece or Soul Eater doesn't mean people shouldn't express their dislike for the show.

You don't do it, but I've seen people who seems to almost attack people that like the show in a "How can you like this?" kind of attitude, which is not fair at all. People may express their dislike towards the show for sure, but getting annoyed that it does well for the block seems a bit... stupid, because Sword Art Online doing well means Toonami doing well.

I agree that it isn't fair and people who like or dislike the show should be able to express their opinions, as long as it doesn't attack others. I don't think that many people, if any, have gotten annoyed that it does well for the block though. Most people just say how Sword Art Online doing well will hopefully lead to Toonami getting better shows. I don't recall too many people complaining about Sword Art Online doing well ratings wise. The reactions here about the premiere of Sword Art Online being one the best things to happen for Toonami this year was about how the show isn't really that good.

Considering that SAO has underage fanservice, molestation, and incest, I can see why people would be annoyed that it's drawing in viewers.

What the hell? I knew about the glop stuff, but that's just sick. Does DeMarco even know about that?

Glad to see they are playing the Trigun movie. Remember getting into Trigun through the early days of Adult Swim.

Same, I've never seen this movie though, so I'm looking forward to watching.

The Toonami staff only watched tge first few episodes before picking it up. When asked about it on their tumblr, they said they "weren't worried about it".

That's just.....uh.....wow. No wonder it's so hated, the whole show just sounds like some awful fanfic.

In my opinion, that's not really a hard task to accomplish. Since I never finished GXP, I can't really compare it to Sword Art Online completely, but based on what episodes I did see, GXP was unwatchable bad, while Sword Art Online is more watchable bad. Although, I think that says more about how I can't stand unfunny harem series rather than anything good about Sword Art Online. It really doesn't do anything that others shows haven't done better, at least for me. The characters are bland, the writing is sloppy at best, the pacing is weak and even the fights have become more lackluster and anticlimactic as the series has progressed.

[strike]Okay, lingering question that's kind of bothering me: Do we know why Trigun: Badlands Rumble is listed as running 3 hours?[/strike]

Edit: Nevermind, saw the revised schedule.

SAO is truly bad, but for me it's sort of a funny bad. I don't enjoy the show based on how well it tells it's story, but I enjoy it based on how hilariously inept it tells it's story. It's like an unintentional comedy. The scene where Yui "dies" is so melodramatic and cheesy and this new villain so over the top evil and slimy that it's hard not to laugh at scenes like that.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
