Sonic X (Uncut)
Now that Saban Brands got the rights to Sonic X, they can use a different voice cast to reflect the uncut edition. Sonic X had an edited English version that currently airs on the CW's Vortexx block and takes out unnecessary, objectionable content. When Sonic X replaces Bleach after that show finishes its run (Bleach ended in Japan already), Sonic X will air an uncut edition in lieu of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.


In the uncut edition, the original Japanese soundtrack is kept in, and the script will be changed to be accurate to the Japanese script. However, profanity gets removed on TV. If Saban was to release uncut English DVDs of Sonic X, the profanity would remain intact there, but not on the adult swim airing (like in Robot Chicken, Aqua series and Family Guy).

i rather not see an uncut version of it, i didnt even knew there was an uncut version of this show, maybe cartoon network will pick up 4kids dub? i mean they are airing an upcoming sonic series(with working title call sonic boom)

Naruto and Naruto Shippuden (Uncut)
With Disney XD (in the United States) no longer having Naruto Shippuden, it now lies under adult swim's Toonami. Unlike the Disney XD version, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden will air in their uncut forms.

Are'nt they already doing this for both shows?i herd Naruto Shippuden was air on January 2014 on this topic(or im may been wrong about it)

One Piece (dub produced by 4Licensing Corporation)
This is a gag and comedic dub, and blocks like Miguzi and Toonami (old) aired the 4Licensing Corporation (formerly 4Kids Productions) version of One Piece first on Cartoon Network. This not only includes the 4Licensing voice cast, but will retain the old script, edited episodes, Roronoa Zolo and the One Piece rap opening. This was not aired enough, but Sonic X (during the 4Kids TV days) lasted longer in TV airings.

they already have the uncut version so why air the 4kids dub?

Iron Man & Fantastic Four (both 1994 cartoon series)
This is a shame that these two Marvel Comics shows and Naruto Shippuden got removed from Disney XD. To make up for the rest, the Iron Man and Fantastic Four cartoon duo from 1994 would be great additions to Toonami, depite not being anime.

but what about something that not own by Disney/Marvel? i don't see them giving this to toonami

Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003)
Due to the fact LucasFilm was bought by the Walt Disney Company, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) should air new episodes on Disney XD, not on any part of Cartoon Network. Cartoon Network only produced the 2003 series as a CN Studios original, and should be reran more often.

there a maybe but if it like megus xlr and toonami can't get it because of the franchise been taking to Disney then you may give up your hope on this, just was 2008 series it has a alot of same characters that were on the 2003 series but mostly the events takes on during episode 3

To compete against today's Vortexx schedule, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and 5D's will air newly-dubbed episodes produced by Konami's in-house dubbing company, 4K Media Inc., to complete the dubs by one hundred percent. 4Licensing Corporation left GX and 5D's incomplete, but be glad Konami is here to complete the rest, if they ever have the time and money.

Don't get your hope for thiis Nick is currently has rights for this show you will have eather watch on votexx or Nicktoons(and i maybe wrong about that) but i don't keep up with what Nicktoons air on there channel anyways and i don't see toonami getting it because of it.

I mostly refer to the same tapes they're still using -- I'd imagine new tapes would be up a little more, and it'd be expected for the work in making them remastered.

Probably cheaper but beyond doing a one time thing, which FUNimation probably threw in as a bonus for them buying 4 movies from them, it would still cost as much as airing some newer shows because it's Cowboy Bebop. Adult Swim is probably willing to pay a decent fee to run Cowboy Bebop again some day but I really hope they don't pinch the pennies to avoid getting new tapes when Cowboy Bebop really needs them so A) it can air without the edits that were made for the original run in 2001 and B) so it can air without stretched video C) so it can look as good as new. Those old tapes have not held up that well and the stretched video only makes that worse.

Toonami has said they hope to bring back Cowboy Bebop some day and if they do they'll get it in HD because that's important to them.

Some other things that should be noted from the Q&A:

- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will be getting another run.
- They already have one or two big announcements planned for next year.
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars is moving to 5am because they think it will do better there. If it doesn't work out, they'll be moving it back.
- Speeches, music videos, and promos will mostly air during Space Dandy.
- They're still not getting paid.
- Hour-long shows could possibly air on the block.
- They believe that Summer Wars did so well because it was newer and a lot of people had not seen it before.
- It's unlikely we'll ever see the original openings for Naruto: Shippuden.

Adult Swim is probably willing to pay a decent fee to run Cowboy Bebop again some day but I really hope they don't pinch the pennies to avoid getting new tapes when Cowboy Bebop really needs them so A) it can air without the edits that were made for the original run in 2001 and B) so it can air without stretched video C) so it can look as good as new. Those old tapes have not held up that well and the stretched video only makes that worse.

I have noticed the quality weakening a little bit at a time. Not as vibrant as I remember.

Some other things that should be noted from the Q&A:

- They already have one or two big announcements planned for next year. (Well... we know they have at least one!)
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars is moving to 5am because they think it will do better there. If it doesn't work out, they'll be moving it back. (Wonder if that means to 3:00am and Naruto to 5:00am before InuYasha)
- They're still not getting paid. (hopefully this starts soon)
- Hour-long shows could possibly air on the block. (that'd be cool in a way)
- It's unlikely we'll ever see the original openings for Naruto: Shippuden. (That doesn't bother me)

I'm not too surprised that Brotherhood is getting another run. While I agree that it could use a break, they might not be able to get something new to replace it right away, especially if those big announcements took up more of their budget. I'm curious about what those announcements are too. I'm not surprised that they're still not getting paid, but hopefully that changes soon. With all of the work they put into the block, they should be paid.

I would suspect the lack of Sentai shows has more to do Sentai not having much worth airing on Toonami except for Big O which has had its day several times over.

I seriously doubt the audience's opinion is taken into account when getting shows. They got SAO despite the constant complaints about the...controversial stuff in it. Besides, I haven't seen Gatchaman Crowds (or any version of the original for that matter), but considering Toonami aired G-Force during the Midnight Run, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to give it a shot.

Also, since they're willing to air cute girl anime with a lot of action, then Girls und Panzer may have a chance after all.

Naruto and One Piece returning were also the result of fan requests. Wouldn't be surprised if Soul Eater was heavily requested prior to airing, too.

Soul Eater was heavily requested in 2012.

As for Gatchaman Crowds, it's an absolutely wonderful show, but the dub needs Stephen Foster away from dub direction, and Hilary Haag even farther away from Hajime, in order for it to be something I want to see aired.

I think people put too much assumption on how much influence fans think they have towards business decisions made that would likely be beyond any fandom's educated knowledge. Just because the people at William Street get a show that was highly requested by fans, that doesn't mean that's the direct reason a show was chosen to air. It is something they consider, but at the end of the day, it also has to be a show they like and and feels appropriate.

Naruto and One Piece (just to point out examples) may have been highly requested shows by fans, but the Toonami Crew also had their own reasons. They liked both shows, they probably wanted them back based on how they felt about both shows after first airing them years ago, there's at least a few years worth of content and thus can help add more to long-running content to tune in to as oppose to just relying on Bleach. It seems that by assuming fans have any direct influence, there's this neglecting to look at other possible factors that may have been explained or even implied in the past and thus a lack of looking at the bigger picture. Again, to be crystal clear, I'm not saying fans don't have influence in the first place. I'm just arguing that there's usually more to various business decisions to consider than just one certain thing.

Yeah sword art is doing great on toonami so I think its possible that it'll show up on toonami eventually I'll probably watch it.... even though it gets a lot of hate the ratings for it don't lie! Me myself, I can take it or leave it but if its helping toonami I can take it!

Sonic X is way more kiddy then Naruto, even uncut. While Naruto had blood, swearing, and mild nudity in the uncut version, Sonic X has a couple of "kuso"s and Rouge's cleavage, and what I think is a make-out session in "A New Start" but it's often debated about just what those two were doing.

Seriously though, I wonder how literal this is at this point. With the various promos they've attracted and the expansion and the Space Dandy premiere, they've got to be bringing a not-insignificant amount of revenue by now. I'm assuming what they really mean by this is that the people doing the programming are all CN employees who are either doing this in their extracurricular time (I figure at least Steve Blum and whoever does Sara's voice at least get scale, unless there's some union loophole), and that they don't have any dedicated Toonami employees, but I have to imagine with how well it's done they'd at least be due a bonus or something at this point. Maybe DeMarco could take them out for pizza or something.

On the off-chance Toonami already has broadcast rights to this (their Space Dandy deal was supposedly made 10 months ago, long before the show was even announced), that would be a definitive answer for those who've been wondering why SAO made their top 10 of the year over SE.

Hmmm very interesting! Maybe it could be another thing like with space dandy and they both premiere in japan and the US around the same time!
