11PM will likely be the home of the next season of Venture Bros. and sure to be the home of the next season of The Boondocks. VB has benefited dramatically from being right before Family Guy on Saturday and that bodes well for the series going forward. It was struggling next to King of the Hill and starting to look pretty bad.

Yeah, ouch about Bleach and S7 dropping 100,000 each. Hopefully the Wreck-It Ralph promotion gives the block a boost.

Even with the drop from last week, the ratings are still pretty decent all things considered and it still looks like dropping the repeats helped the overall ratings a bit.

Ratings for last week are in:

SNL rose from 2.2 to 2.8 in 18-49 the Sat before. Paranormal Activity 4 might appeal more to TOONAMI fans than Taken 2 did. FG deliv 2m, Cleve nearly 1.8m, BDyn nearly 1.1m. [as] doesn't care so why should we? Bleach losing nearly 14% from Boon is worse than avg but nothing to panic about. S7 losing nearly 20% is bad. CS losing just 9% is good but not when you consider it's a basic cable premiere undeserving of the 12:30a slot. Again, does any one really believe FmAB would not be beating S7 in the 12:30a slot? Look at the pre-TOONAMI #'s for this time last yr. GitS & Bebop continue to prove their worth as well.

It narrowly beat [as] from 10-12:30a, but beat TOONAMI easily. The gap is not so wide though that [as] shouldn't aspire to try & beat it.

SW:CW might not be doing as bad in syndication as first thought. While it now follows Cheaters on Sat nights, those are premiere ep of Cheaters which means the affiliates might have been contractually bound to air it then. There's no shame in SW:CW losing to Cheaters premieres.

Perhaps the reason they are not so quick to jettison Black Dynamite from Saturday is the total viewer drop-off is much more dramatic than the 18-49 drop off. It may at this point be weening off the kids that came in for Family Guy and stayed for Cleveland. After all on Sunday Family Guy on Sunday got at 11pm got around 2.7 million total viewers and got a 1.2 rating with 18-49 while Black Dynamite got 1.7 million total viewers but managed a 0.8 with 18-49. So the drop off is coming from the younger viewers much more so than 18-49 on Sunday.

Even so Black Dynamite is not doing anywhere near as well as The Boondocks can at 11PM so they should not be so content to leave it there.

With the ratings it has been getting lately it would probably be safe to gamble on another full run as long as they kept it in an hour block but I don't think they should spend money on renewing it so if they cannot get another run done by the time they lose the license then they should probably shelf it. Anyone who wants to see the series can watch the entire dub on Hulu.

I disagree. Even if they can't complete it another time, it does so good that they should be making the mosr of it. They have nothing to rerun that could do better really. To be honest, unless it costs too much, I'd say they should renew their license even.

Jason DeMarco has stressed that their preference will always be new, so if it comes between renewing Brotherhood and getting a new show, I would hope they would go for a new show.

I like Brotherhood and while I wouldn't mind them giving it another run, especially when the whole series can air under Toonami, if they do get a chance for airing something new, I'd be fine with Brotherhood taking a break for awhile so that something new can air on the block.

Of course, if they do give Brotherhood another run, they can argue that it technically hasn't fully aired on Toonami, since it was in the middle of the current run when Toonami re-launched. It would be somewhat fair, as the new viewers who tuned in for Toonami haven't seen the earlier episodes. However, a new series would still be preferable and the entire series is on Hulu.

Jason DeMarco has stressed that their preference will always be new, so if it comes between renewing Brotherhood and getting a new show, I would hope they would go for a new show.

To be honest, the argument that the entire series is on hulu is not a very good argument. I know that you mean people can just watch it there, but it still pulls good ratings here, so that doesn't say anything. I'm certain Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is not gonna leave before the shows after it as long as they the rights. They're not gonna remove it after this run.

TOONAMI is clearly a pet project of DeMarco's now which explains b2b Brotherhood, GitS, & Bebop. I'm expecting Brotherhood to start a new b2b run when it completes it's current one. While I realize there's been no word yet, I'm still expecting IY:Final Act to slot in behind Bleach & S7 move down to Sins slot when it finishes. What matters most in ratings is competitiveness especially for a network like [as]. Looking at WWE AM Raw & ESPN ratings I see no reason to believe that TOONAMI was any less competitive this summer & early Fall than ACTN was last yr. I think they have the $ for Final Act. It's going to come down to whether DeMarco is a fan or Manning still has the pull to get it. I think the return of E7 proves there is no rush to get new stuff, but IY:FA is an exception given it's longevity on [as].

The Bandai shows currently airing are up for sale & while FUNIMATION is the front runner to land them, I think Warner could be a dark horse. VIZ has partnered with Warner Home Entertainment for the IY:Final Act release in Nov & Warner has an active interest in Gintama as well. In general then I think Warner is increasing it's interest in Japanese animation.

Bandai is still making some moves television wise. They just added K-On to MNET where they previously aired Outlaw Star, Mai-Hime and supposedly Eureka 7.

It turns out AS still has InuYasha. DeMarco tweeted that the additional hour for DST will be the first two episodes of InuYasha and a special easter egg for long time Toonami fans.

I expect to be surprised by whatever shows up when Casshern ends. With the way they've been playing their cards so far it will be equally surprising for them to get something out of left field as it would be for them to get something highly requested like Final Act. But if they want to keep people tuned in it would likely be in their best interest to air a show that isn't on DVD yet.
