A new Prep & Landing special is on the way.

Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol will premiere at 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) on Disney Channel. The special will be made available on Disney+ the following day, and the elves will head to ABC’s shelves later in the season. And since Disney has roughly 1,000 platforms … that’s not all! Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol will also be a part of Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas.”

Wait a min, Coven Academy is a live action show in the cartoon "11 minute segment" format?

I didn't read that part of the article until now, I was so focused on the vertical shorts and the concert tour thing with Descendants/Zombies/Camp Rock.

It is, but when you read this article, this is what it says about Coven Academy:

One of our big launches this summer for Disney+ will be Coven Academy, which is a bunch of young girls in a genre setting — but that one is also specifically geared for young audiences in 2026. We designed these episodes to be in 15-minute bursts because we know how people are watching.

What would that mean if it's not in the cartoon '11-minute segment' format? It's gotta be using that format for the episodes.

Is this the first time a live action Disney show has done something like this? 11 minute segments/episodes like with Spongebob and other cartoons

ESPN, Disney, Pixar and National Hockey League Team Up for Inside Out Classic. Airing on April 5, 2026.

Inside Out Classic will feature virtually created real-time animation of the action between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers modeled after characters on Pixar’s award-winning franchise Inside Out.

The animated telecast will leverage tracking technology to present the action on the ice in real-time while featuring Inside Out characters skating alongside animated versions of the NHL players.
