Speaking of movies ,IIRC one of the Billy & Mandy movies was listed to air this week(Spider Queen I think), so I wonder how well that could do due to nostalgia factor.

Man, the NEW NEW NEW NEW episodes have really bad ratings. Even TTG, even though it still got the highest ratings of the block.

Still, very low ratings, with TTG getting the highest ratings. However, I shouldn't be too disappointed, as they probably got high ratings on the app

I'm fairly sure that TTG number is a series low.

BTW here's a relevant article which talks about CN's move to streaming:
http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/bringing-cartoons-to-tv-and-everywhere
I read the article yesterday. It pretty much confirms that CN doesn't care about linear ratings as much as VOD ratings. It's only a matter of time before CN deletes their channel and becomes a streaming service

Well, it's a slow transition for sure and Boomerang will obviously go first, but still it probably will happen in a couple years.

Yikes. What happened last week for the adult demos to rise but the overall ratings to tank?

(Looks like I've been ninja'd by quite a few people, lol)

Another series of low ratings and TTG has gone low once again. Maybe it's time they should switch to streaming.

They always get it higher, even on reruns, this isn’t the first that we see it lower that its average ratings.

At this rate, Turner should consider making a new kids channel by now since CN is almost out of energy.

Where's Steven Universe when we need him?

Well, it's a slow transition for sure and Boomerang will obviously go first, but still it probably will happen in a couple years.

An earlier article from last month, with a different European perspective, seems to somewhat confirm that. It's an interview with the general manager for CN in Central/Eastern Europe regarding the Czech launch and future plans and touches upon this point briefly. Think it's worth checking out for US viewers as well and went under the radar more less.

Here's the original in Czech:
http://www.rozhlas.cz/digital/telev...network-uvazujeme-i-o-lokalni-tvorbe--1757958

And here are the relevant parts I mentioned that you should throw into Google Translate to get the information:

I think it tells us something and adds to the debate.

Here's that translated quote for reference sake:
Why do you think Turner and Cartoon Network didn't come in localized form earlier?

The Czech Republic has now reached the point where it has become a sufficiently advanced market for digital services for us. For us, the linear channel itself is not as attractive as the whole ecosystem, including both the linear channel and the associated digital space. We are targeting multiple platforms, and this approach is the main reason why now and not a few years ago.

So would you say that this multi-platform approach is one of the ways you want to differentiate yourself from local competitors?

I think we are globally differentiated by this approach - especially from stations that mostly buy third-party content. We are different, because our pillar is mainly original content. And making it ourselves and putting it on any platform makes us unequivocally different. In addition, it allows us to better connect with the audience and interact with fans wherever they are - which I think is most important in our strategy.

The Boomerang Children's Channel operates in localized form in many European markets. On home soil, however, it finds itself in a difficult situation when its linear channel was pushed into the background in favor of the streaming service of the same name. Can we expect similar developments in our region and is there still room for Boomerang in Czech?

The situation with Boomerang in the US is such that it has a much lower coverage compared to Cartoon Network, and the new streaming service also includes content from Cartoon Network and third parties. As a result, Boomerang is different and has a much wider shot. Therefore, the strategy differs.

And yeah, this really does make complete sense and more or less matches the impression I've been getting for quite a while.

Those were some very low ratings, though their adult demos were high. Hard to believe TTG stooped to the 800 thousands range.

I don't think they're saying they don't care about ratings. I got the impression that there focusing on all different types of media as there main focus.

The article even states that there not focusing on linear ratings, which means, VOD, Live Feed/Live Steams, DVR Ratings. Linear viewing means the many types of ways people watch tv, which includes those things and the article says that there not focusing on that.

Like what I mean is, from what I'm noticing, Cartoon Network seems to be turning there shows into franchises with Soundstracks, Video Games, Comics, Toys, Merchandise, etc. That's the vibe I got from the article when they said they're focusing on a multimedia approach.

The VOD service is another type of Linear TV viewing that they were walking about in the artcle. And Cartoon network counts the ratings from the VOD services, in fact CN is one of the few networks that do, counts the VOD ratings.

http://www.adweek.com/tv-video/niel...ks-to-its-media-planning-tool-for-buyers/amp/

And as the article was talking about. CN is focusing on multimedia, VOD is a type of Linear viewing experience and they talked about in the article that there not focusing on that.
