I'd be surprised if it doesn't become a trilogy, but I guess it's kind of complicated
I think a third Black Panther could work as a big time skip with a new king being crowned and the ceremony and it's all full circle. And you're wondering if he's the adult son of Shuri, a mystery like is he the secret son of T'Challa and Nakia, or someone else's son.I feel like they say that for a lot of movies at this point.

10/31: The latter. It would be kinda be MCU standalone but tell a complete story within the BP trilogy.Would a big time skip work in the MCU given that they’d trying to do Young Avengers? Or are you saying skip to a new young Black Panther, maybe a secret son of Kilmonger (which would be funny given the whole premise of Michael B. Jordan and Coogler’s Creed franchise)?
I guess that depends on if they want to get some version of T'Challa back at some point or do something originalI think a third Black Panther could work as a big time skip with a new king being crowned and the ceremony and it's all full circle. Wonder how Secret Wars might effect this (T'Challa Jr. as full Black Panther? New version of T'Challa?)
Black Panther 3 makes sense but X-Men would be a lot
Maybe with enough of a time-skip for the new T'Challa to be old enough
In terms of Wakanda's future, an insider claims the plan is
Shuri is still taking time for herself, as she is not interested in the slightest in being Queen of Wakanda. She is still keeping the mantle of Black Panther, BUT, I am hearing that she will eventually pass on the mantle to the one true successor of the throne of Wakanda, the young Prince T’Challa, son of King T’Challa. It is to my understanding that she, along with Okoye and Nakia, are raising this child so he can eventually take on the mantle and become the next ruler of Wakanda and Black Panther...But the story they have planned with his son is absolutely lovely, and I quite frankly would love to see it unfold as they have planned.
My immediate thought is Achebe...though I wonder if we'll have aged up T'Challa Jr.
At the very least I think Boyega is going to avoid another franchise film...12/17/24: Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito confirm departing producer Nate Moore will still work with Marvel Studios on a third Black Panther movie.
1/8/25: Based on rumors yesterday of a T'Challa recast, but another rumor today is refuting it and claims they are actually casting for T'Challa's son and one actor they talked to would really infuriate fans allegedly.
1/12: Rumored actors approached include John Boyega, Damson Idris, and David Oyelowo.
Agreed, I bet it was around the same time they were talking to him about the Rey movie and he passed. But they still wanted him in the system and Marvel Studios took a turn. But he's pretty much said in past interviews he's done with Disney and franchises because they fumbled with diversity in SW.At the very least I think Boyega is going to avoid another franchise film...
