CN Ratings Thread: Part 13

Ugh, only two shows broke a 2.0, and even they failed to beat Nick. Hopefully things will pick back up when Omniverse and Clone Wars return, we'll see if the soft ratings of the latter were just b/c it was an encore or not.

That said, I'm a little pessimistic about Scan2Go replacing Johnny Test, since they're doing little to advertise it (gee, big surprise). That said, with Nick airing preschool shows in that hour, I'm certain it'll have no trouble beating that. Even Redakai reruns consistently beat those shows.

And yet Disney Junior still somehow pounds everything in the ground...

qutie a strange ratings plop.. everything was basically 1.1, then pokemon hits 1.6 and then it drops back to 1.1

Wednesday, August 29th:

KIDS 2-11

Disney Channel - 886,000
Nickelodeon - 645,000
Cartoon Network - 570,000

KIDS 6-11

Disney Channel - 607,000
Cartoon Network - 368,000
Nickelodeon - 338,000

TWEENS 9-14

Disney Channel - 525,000
Cartoon Network - 271,000
Nickelodeon - 244,000

Man, it's a real shame to see Johnny Test being replaced in that slot. It actually did better than everything else CN had before noon. When the rest does bad, Johnny Test apparently improves and in 7AM? I really hope that both Redakai and Beyblade are returning very soon. I still say it would've been smarter to have Star Wars at 8:30 Wednesday and Scan2Go at 9:30.

I agree, or pair Star Wars with Dragons and NinjaGo.

On the other hand, if CN's getting some sort of merchandising incentive to air Scan2Go (which may be the case since it's only on once a week ;-) ), I highly doubt they care about that.

Can Regular Show reach three million viewers this monday? I think that the kiss between Mordecai and Margaret could attract a lot of viewers.
(Sorry for my bad english).

Regular Show's Facebook promotion for the episode is as big as Adventure Time's Facebook promotion for Burning Low. It's a possibility.

The television promotion on that particular Adventure Time episode really hyped it. There isn't much tv promotion on this episode. Nick also put Spongebob premieres during Adventure Time with a huge marathon leading up to it. It could hurt Regular Show as a result. However I don't shouldn't keep our hopes low yet. We have seen CN's comedy stuff do a good job vs. Spongebob mid-day Saturday. They've also got several hours in a row of their most popular shows to compete.

I'm really wondering what CN will do with the final season of Level Up. Maybe they'll treat it about the same until Nick Cannon/Team Toon come in. At which point I'm wondering what'll befall Level Up. Still, when these programs roll onto CN, I've gotta feel bad for the cast and crew of the shows. (Remember Paul Dini and Tower Prep?) :<

Regular Show (8:00) - Cartoon
2.172 million viewers, #16; 0.464 million adults 18-49 (0.4 rating), #27

Annoying Orange (8:30, 30 Minutes) - Cartoon
1.286 million viewers, #24; 0.236 million adults 18-49 (0.2 rating), #31

Cartoon Network shouldn't have moved MAD....

Well, if Annoying Orange is planning to survive with constantly getting 0.9M less than Regular Show, then RS needs better numbers than that. I realize that MAD being moved is most definitely the reason to why AO drops so much off from RS, but why did RS get that low ratings then? That was a big episode and the season finale too, though people might not know it was a season finale.

Well it was Labor Day and that could've affected it (although the show premiered on Labor Day two years ago didn't it?) but it might also have been Nick's airing of ET The Extra Terrestrial which got around 2.4 million viewers (not sure of the exact total but I saw it on TVBytheNumbers).

Spongebob's viewers leading into ET affected Regular Show. Yet only 1.3 for Annoying Orange from 2.2 Million is not pretty. Throughout the fall ratings may be lower. Annoying Orange will have to deal with that. We may not see AO last much longer. Firstly, it's rerun slots will probably be the first thing to go.

Level Up (8:00) - Cartoon
1.252 million viewers, #20; 0.294 million adults 18-49 (0.2 rating), #32

I'd say really bad coming right after a big series premiere, even though we don't know the numbers Dragons got.

Level Up performs this way every week.

For ONCE CARTOON Network, move this to a really early time slot.

At this point, a simple rerun of Ninjago will perform better.

1.2? No, you dont say, i'd never see that coming.
CARTOON NETWORK 1.4/8 Avg. (7a-1p)
Johnny Test 1.7/19; Redakai: Conquer the Kairu 0.9/8; Beyblade: Metal Masters 1.1/8; Pokemon B&W: Rival Destinies 1.6/9; Beywheelz: Powered By Beyblade 1.1/5; Beywheelz: Powered By Beyblade 1.0/5; The Green Lantern 1.1/5; Young Justice: Invasion 1.1/5; Ninjago 1.3/6; Ninjago 1.6/7; Ninjago 2.2/10; Adventure Time 2.2/11
Can someone explain this to me, i'm a little confused. What is this chart? Is the left side number the Millions of views? If so are these reruns or premieres? What are the right numbers?

Of those, only Pokémon and Beywheelz were premieres. All the others were reruns.

Yet there are times you will see TV rating numbers that look like this: 5.2/14. What’s that? The first number is the rating and the 2nd number is the share. That 5.2 (rating) is the estimated percentage of Nielsen households that watched, ie: 5.2% of houses had the TV on with that show broadcasting out the speakers! The 14 (share) is the percentage of all their people watching that specific show, or all of the Nielsen families watching TV at that time.
In other words, 5% of all homes had the TV tuned to TV series X. Of all people (not homes) watching TV, 14% of them were watching TV series X.

So 1.6% of all homes had their TV tuned in to Pokémon, but of all people watching TV, 9% of them were watching Pokémon. This is only in the 6-11 crowd though.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
