CN Ratings Thread: Part 14

Well, CN has kind of been a touch inconsistent/directionless under this current regime, yeah? Just my opinion.

Yeah, they;ve been going throug an identity crisis ever since they tried dabbling in live action, IMO.

And it might have sold toys if they didn't cancel the toyline and actually had toys to SELL

They canceled the toyline because it wasn't selling well. And anyway, I don't see what this has to do with CN ratings.

Another 1.5 for Incredible Crew? I bet CN will allow IC to live on those ratings. I wonder what Nick Cannon thinks of this, though.

Never saw a single commercial for toys... funny thing, toys sell when you advertise them.
Though people are just noting that CN is canceling a show that did well in the ratings, while live action shows with lesser ratings (and not much in the way of mechandise either) can get renewed

Live-action is cheaper, Monte.

Even though it's true that Live-action is cheaper (and is a GREAT argument to quell the endless discussion/rants about Live-action-on-Cartoon-Network) the argument is a bit of a double edged sword. An under-performing show can live on by it's low costs, but it's still going to sully the overall network image. Especially when said show is on most days.

Second. Disney/Nick's live-action shows are cheaper to produce than their cartoons (more or less, right?) but the ratings have to be really good for those shows to live on, And those L-A shows get ratings equal to or better than their animated cartoons. So I wonder what reason CN keeps their under-performing shows around... simply just lower standards? Just something to think about, as this might just be a tad too off topic. That said, I shouldn't have said anything, anyways. Arguing about CN's live-action shows is incredibly depressing and pointless. I just wanted to say how a cheap show with poor ratings is kind of detrimental for a network to keep around. At least CN is getting something out of airing those shows... I'm sure.

Also, on topic, holy crap those are good AT RS ratings... I remember the days of Chowder and Flapjack. These kind of ratings were a dream. :3

Oh wow... CN got hit HARD last saturday morning. If i recall Omniverse and Pokemon normally perform quite a bit better than that (last week they had 1.6, and 1.4... and 1.7 and 1.5 the week before that).
Heh... Can't help but note that this coincides with DC nation going into reruns... just saying.

The Saturday ratings are not that bad really. If the ending of DC Nation played a role in the drop, it was probably the older audience that left off, which doesn't matter as long as K6-11 is still doing well.

Nice to see Dragons with some solid ratings again. It had been kinda low before it.

DC Nation having new episodes or being renewed could've made that not happen.

TheCtes has a good point though. If it's -just- the adult audience that left, then Ben 10/Pokemon don't have to worry.... still... I'm inclined to think that less premieres mean Saturday Morning Premieres are gonna get way less attention now.

Yeah, I feel that without DC Nation and Star Wars, Saturday morning ratings won't be as good as they used to be.

They don't have to worry at all. DC Nation never really boosted their K6-11 ratings and the merchandise would keep them on otherwise.

Scooby Doo at 5PM with a bit of promotion beating out most of the Saturday morning block. It's a different animal without DC Nation.

This is only half true, as it seems to only apply to Ben 10.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
