But Kai's just a reedit of a show from 1989. No matter what Toei does, its still going to look 25+ years old.
I don't think it looks 25 years old. It's far from the best animation of its time but it holds up fine.

Death Note? Not a bad show, but also not quite a fitting choice for an action block...
Why aren't they looking into Durarara!! instead? It actually has action and a second season is on the way.
I knew it. That goes way out on the extreme with its nudity, and I doubt aniplex or toonami would want to pony up money for digital edits.
I'd rather have the series and then Rebellion, but I guess the movies could work.
Honestly I think they're looking into the original. We all know it will take at least a year for Crystal to be dubbed.
And considering Kai is basically the 1989 show just re-edited, I can see the new Viz dub of Sailor Moon upon the horizon (I mean, the new dub is essentially in the same boat as Kai: both shows are the same show as before, but both are different versions of each show, with Kai being re-edited, and Sailor Moon being a new dub).
Though on the subject of movies... I know I've been asking about the recent DC animated movies, but I wonder; think there's any chance of them airing the old DCAU movies? Like Batman: Mask of the Phantasm? Being older means they probably won't cost as much as the recent ones, as well as the fact that they don't seem to mind airing movies older than Bebop (such as Akira and Cooler's Revenge), so what are the odds of this happening?
Hmm, I wasn't aware DBZ Kai was animated differently. From what I gathered, it just seemed like the original show chopped together with new voices and new music and less episodes. Guess that goes to show I have a lot to learn about anime! That's wrong. Dragon Ball Z Kai is considered a different show, animated differently, that aired in 2009. This new Sailor Moon dub is just a redub of the 1992 series. I mean, if there was a Sailor Moon Kai in Japan they might go for that, or if someone else tried dubbing the original Dragon Ball Z I doubt they'd go for that. Unless they decide to go back on what they said on their Tumblr, I just can't see them airing anything from the original Sailor Moon series, movies aside.
