Why Did You Choose Your Current Avatar Version 4.0

My next Don't Starve avatar is Wolfgang. He's unlocked after Willow and his voice is represented by a tuba. Wolfgang has the highest amount hunger of all the characters, but needs to eat more often because it drains faster. When he's well fed, he becomes more muscular and his health and strength grow stronger. When he's starving, he becomes scrawnier and weaker. Wolfgang is also a nyctophobic, so loses sanity a little faster when in darkness or near monsters.

Wolfgang talks in broken English, but his country is origin is unknown. His name is German, but his description of certain objects (i.e., frog legs and a hammer) imply he's from either from France or the Soviet Union. The developers won't say where he is from and I doubt they ever will.

Here is what the strongman looks like in full.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is Wendy. She's unlocked after Wolfgang is voiced by an alto flute. Wendy is a very morbid girl who always relates everything to death and how depressing life is, including herself. I don't like her downer personality, but I like her signature ability. Then again, she did lose her twin sister, so I guess her pessimism is justified.

Wendy's starting item is the flower that her twin sister, Abigail, used to wear. After a few a days, it will bloom and Wendy can summon the ghost of Abigail to keep her company. Abigail looks like a typical bedsheet ghost, except that her eyes are like Wendy's and she wears her flower on the right side of her head, opposite of Wendy's. Abigail will follow Wendy and protect her from anything that attacks. Which is good since Wendy doesn't hit as hard as other characters. If something kills Abigail's ghost, she will disappear and her flower will reappear so she can be summoned later.

While the game's art style makes the characters' ages ambiguous, I believe Wendy is a child. Unlike the other female characters, Wendy has larger eyes, no visible lips, and her clothes look like something a little girl would wear. Many fans of the game also hold my beliefs as well.

Here's what the bereaved girl looks like in full. By the way, she's not holding Abigail's flower. Abigail's flower looks like the one Wendy wears in her hair.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is WX-78. It's unlocked after Wendy is voiced by a crazy processed synth. WX-78 is a robot that hates all living matter and likes machines like itself. I admit, I find its hatred toward organics funny. For example, it says meat tastes like revenge and laughs at skeletons it finds ("HAH, IT DIED, TYPICAL HUMAN MISTAKE.").

Despite being a robot, WX-78 must eat to stay alive, can eat stale and spoiled food just fine ("SPOILED FOOD IS STILL FOOD.") Like a typical robot, rain damages it, but lighting supercharges it at the cost of some sanity. While supercharged, WX-78 glows brightly, making it its own light source.

WX-78 initially has very low stats, but it can upgrade itself by eating gears. Ironically, gears have to be salvaged from other machines and this disturbs WX-78 ("OH NO. WHAT HAVE I DONE TO YOU?") Gears also refill its health, hunger, and sanity, so it's good to use them as emergency items.

Here is what the soulless automation looks like in full.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is Wickerbottom. She's unlocked after WX-78 and is voiced by an oboe. Wickerbottom is an elderly librarian who describes things like a textbook entry. She has a prim and proper attitude that only breaks when she sees a baby beefalo ("It has a widdle face!").

Wickerbottom has the highest amount of sanity of the playable characters and is smart enough that she doesn't need to build a science machine to craft basic science items. She can also craft magical books that when read, conjure powerful events at the cost of sanity. However, she has insomnia, so she can't sleep to regain sanity. She also hates spoiled and/or raw food and suffer greater penalties from eating them.

Here is what the librarian looks like in full. Contrary to the image, Wickerbottom's eyes are normally closed in-game. When she does open them they're black dots and is the only female character to have such eyes.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is Woodie, one of my favorite characters (The others being Wilson, Willow, and Webber). He's unlocked after Wickerbottom and is voiced by a cello. Woodie is your typical Canadian lumberjack. Aside from talking to his axe, his irrational hatred of birds, and his terrible secret, he's a pretty normal guy.

Woodie starts off with his favorite axe, Lucy. Lucy can chop down trees really fast and is unbreakable, but is weaker than a regular axe in combat. She also talks and is voiced by a squeaky clarinet (I thought it was a violin at first). Lucy loves Woodie very much and encourages him to chop down trees. However, she will urge him to stop if he gets carried away. I like Lucy and I always keep her in my inventory because she gets sad when you drop her.

Woodie's terrible secret is that he's under a curse. Whenever he chops too many trees or if there's a full moon out, he'll change into a big, feral werebeaver (This is why I like him). Werebeaver Woodie is very powerful and can bite down trees and rocks in no time flat. He also has night vision, so he can never be attacked by the night monster in this state. In this state the HUD is replaced with a log meter. Woodie will stay in werebeaver form until his log meter is empty, then he will transform back into a human. However, the log meter drains over time and when he gets hurt. The only way to refill the log meter is to eat logs and other types of wood. The downsides of Werebeaver Woodie is that he can't carry anything and can't access the crafting tabs. The werebeaver form is best used to fight giants or swiftly chopping down forests of trees and mining quarries of rocks.

Here's what the lumberjack looks like in full. Also, here's what his werebeaver form looks like.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is Wes. Being a mime, Wes can't speak and randomly pantomimes instead. Wes is one of three characters that can't be unlocked through experience points. Instead, he must be found in adventure mode and freed from his invisible prison.

Wes was made for people who found the game too easy, which is saying something considering how difficult Don't Starve is. He has very low stats which drain faster than other characters. His special ability is his infinite supply of balloons. Each balloon he makes costs him 5 sanity. While balloons seem useless at first, they can distract enemies and cause damage when popped. A cluster of balloons will cause a chain reaction if one pops, so they can be used to make traps.

Here's what the silent looks like in full.

I changed my avatar to Dopey. I have seen a few episodes of The 7D and it was surprisingly good. It made me think of all the nostalgic memories I have about being obsessed with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs around 1994-ish. Dopey was actually my favorite character and I was even him for Halloween that year.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is Maxwell. He is voiced by a harmonium and can only be unlocked by completing adventure mode.

Maxwell is significant because he is the antagonist of Don't Starve and the reason why everyone is in the weird world of the game. He wasn't always like this. 20 years prior to the game, Maxwell was William Carter, a meek stage magician fresh from England. After a series of flops and knee deep in debt, he came across a tome of unknown magic power. Using the book's knowledge, he used it in his acts and became the Amazing Maxwell. Things were going swell until one day he messed up an act and was dragged into the game's setting by shadow creatures. Now he works for the shadows, shaping the Don't Starve world and tricking unsuspecting people into being dragged into it to survive for his amusement (i.e. the playable characters).

As a playable character, Maxwell is pretty powerful. His sharp taste in clothing raises his sanity at a steady rate, making it easy when doing sanity draining tasks. His health is not very high, but he starts off with a dark sword and nightmare armor. These items are powerful at the cost of draining sanity, which isn't a problem for the dapper Maxwell. He also starts off the Umbra Codex, the book that got him into this mess. By reading the book, he can fracture his mind and create a shadow clone of himself at the cost of his maximum sanity. The clones do his dirty work until they die, which gives Maxwell back his max sanity.

Yesterday night, I decided to change my avatar from Plank on a fish ride to a still from My Best Friend Plank. It was out with the old and in with the new, and I think that my previous avatar was becoming way too over-familiar.

I've been watching "Invader Zim" recently and find it's a good cartoon! Also I've had the same avatar for a while now and the whole Princess Twilight Sparkle hype has died down.

This week, my Don't Starve avatar is Wigfrid. She is only playable if you have the "Reign of Giants" DLC and is voiced by... I have no idea, but it sounds like some kind of cacaphonic horn. Despite this, she is one of my favorite characters.

While she looks like a Valkyrie, Wigfrid is actually an actress playing a Valkyrie. She's so in character that she is an excellent fighter and starts off with an exclusive spear and helmet that are much stronger than regular ones. She also starts off with some meat, which is good since she is a total carnivore. Wigfrid thinks plants are not warrior food, making it a little tricky when starting with her because berries and carrots are easy to find foods early in the game.

The best thing about Wigfrid is her combat capability. She's the second strongest character (Wolfgang is the mightiest), but she gains health and sanity with every kill. This can reduce the need for healing and sanity items if you're good at dodging.

Here's what the performance artist looks like in full.

Cohorts,

current avatar is daxter. just finished the game and it was blast.

Couple of reasons, I guess.

1. Damien Sandow is hilarious and tragically undervalued by the ignorami of WWE "Creative"

2. It fits with my username.

This is the last of my Don't Starve avatars. Meet Webber from the "Reign of Giants" DLC. He may look like a humanoid spider, but he's actually boy who survived being swallowed whole by a spider. He now uses the spider as a living bodysuit, similar to Venom from Spider-Man. Unlike most characters, Webber can't be unlocked through experience. Instead you must find his skull while exploring and bury it in an open grave to unlock him.

Despite his creepy appearance, Webber is really a sweet kid. Most creatures don't think so and will attack him on sight, including the normally friendly pigs. Spiders, a common enemy, are nice towards him and can be befriended by giving them meat. Webber even starts off with spider eggs to make a spider den.

One of the perks of being part spider is that Webber's immune to monster meat: a toxic meat found in common enemies like spiders and hounds. He also starts of with some monster meat to drive the point home.

The most interesting thing about Webber is that he can grow a beard of silk. It's not as warm as Wilson's beard, but it grows faster and gives spider silk when shaven.

Here is what the indigestible looks like in full.

I think it's time for a new set of avatars. This time, they're from the MOBA, Awesomenauts.

The first of my Awesomenauts avatars is Froggy G, the amphibious gangster turned rapper turned mercenary. His water powers allow him to hit hard and fast; good for getting in, dishing damage, and getting out.

Here's how he plays:

My Awesomenauts avatar this week is Sheriff Lonestar, the genetically engineered space cowboy who once wrangled an entire planet of alien cattle. His Dynamite Throw can cause some serious damage and his holo-bull pushes enemies back and clears lanes. Overall, Lonerstar is a versatile character.

Here's how he plays:

John Lithgow as King Lear.

I may have just found my spirit animal!

My Awesomenauts avatar this week is Leon Chameleon. This one armed, French-speaking space chameleon is as dashing as he is deadly. He is made for close range combat and his long sticky tongue makes it so that he stays close. His natural camouflage basically makes him invisible and leaves behind a dummy of himself to get foes off his trail. In the right hands, Leon is able to cause paranoia in his enemies and while doing serious damage in no time flat.

Here's how he plays:

(The Mona Lisa from Time Squad, Red Arrow from Young Justice,
Komodo from The Secret Saturdays and Warp Darkmatter from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command)

I mostly change my avatar after 6 months. (So I'm now 2 years on ToonZone)
I just pick my favourite character from a cartoon I am watching a lot at the moment.

I have recently send an e-mail to Ketnet (=> Belgian state television) to rerun Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, because I really want more action cartoons on TV. That's why I picked Warp Darkmatter, he is the coolest character of the show.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
