CN Ratings Thread: Part 13

Total Drama: Revenge of the Island definitely helped out Level Up a lot, and maybe it also helped Cartoon Network beat Nickelodeon in Kids 6-11 and beat both Nickelodeon AND Disney Channel in Tweens 9-14.

Looks like they made the right call putting Total Drama before Level Up on Tuesday. Well... it helped Level Up anyway.

Well, that's pretty good for Level Up, but again I'm sure CN fails to take into consideration that with that great an amount of promotion not just for Level Up, but also for what aired before it which was a season premier that some might even call it a series premiere, then it's actually not that good.

I'd just wish they didn't make their favorites based on personal care towards the show, or if it's because of the fact that it's live-action and they want that to succed on the channel, tone it down as well. They should realize that it didn't live up to all the insane hype they made for it, and threat it normally.

Cartoon Network has easily beat Nickelodeon with kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 many days since November with or without premieres. However they haven't beat them the entire week except for two times, because Nick beats them on the weekend. Cartoon Network should just advertise and air marathons of their megahit series on weekends.

Anyways is Level Up a megahit like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Johnny Test, or NinjaGo? No. But is it a flop like Hole in the Wall, The Problem Solverz, and Secret Mountain Fort Awesome? No. Level Up does good not great not bad but good. Reruns were able to win all boys and kids 6-11 and 9-14 against Phineas and Fern and Good Luck Charlie. Cartoon Network has a hard time beating those shows with Adventure Time and Regular Show. Level Up is standing enough to pull in reasonable numbers.

EDIT: Total Drama Revenge of the Island premiere ratings are finally in:

3.3 million? Wow! Looks like if they keep this up, another season will be bound to happen.

YES! The producers said that it would take good ratings in the US if a season 5 were to happen and it's looking great! I hope the season finale can beat Ninjago's when that comes around, heh.

Also, winning demos or not, this definitely makes Level Up look pathetic. It dropped with about 1,5 mil viewers? That almost surprised me more than the great numbers TDRI pulled.

Nice! I love the Total Drama series, and Revenge of the Island is pretty good. Hopefully it stays above water and gets renewed for more episodes. :)

I read somewhere that a season of TDI depends on if it does well in the States.
Looks like their getting it.

I have to say I'm impressed, I thought the show's popularity wore out like all the other Canadian teen cartoons. But even without a huge promotional blitz, the show's doing well.
Good for CN!

If CN were smart they'd air premieres for a POPULAR show after Total Drama, that would really bring in great ratings for the night. (Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, Gumball, etc.)

It could be great with TLTS and Scooby-Doo afterwards imo. I think more people would stay.

Total Drama's ratings put Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and Gumball to shame...

Johnny Test at 7am beat both Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. Also, Johnny Test almost beat Spongebob (11:30am) and beat Power Rangers (12pm). Pokemon beat Disney Channel as well. In my opinion, action shows (ThunderCats, Green Lantern, and Young Justice) are doing just terrible, as Saturday airings of Level Up. Those need to go in my opinion.

Its nice to see CN having victories over both Nick and Disney Channel. These past few months have made Cartoon Network in the competition. Last year Cartoon Network rarely had any victories over the two and it seemed as the competition was only amongst Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.

pokemon broke the 2.0 range, itll be interesting to see how its marathon holds up next saturday when they run original BW episodes for 2 hours

Hoo boy Green Lantern reruns are not cutting the mustard and both Young Justice and ThunderCats had a bad day but they've done much better on other weeks. Hopefully this Saturday is kinder to them.

Against competetion reruns of action shows just don't do well, I think it might be affecting YJ a bit. As usual Level Up makes ratings decrease, good things it's not gonna be on Saturday mornings any longer, because while it might have won demos in other slots, weekend morning was certainly a bad idea.

1.1 for Green Lantern? I think they should pick up a few more DC Nation shows and put it on Thursday night.

I have to say I'm impressed, I thought the show's popularity wore out like all the other Canadian teen cartoons. But even without a huge promotional blitz, the show's doing well.
Good for CN!

TDRI received plentiful promotion. I would even say the hype CN gave it rivaled Level Up.

Hopefully TD can continue getting good ratings.

Maybe promotional wise alone it does. But they used so many other tricks in an attempt to hype LU further.

Actually, it wasn't a lot, or not so much. Maybe for 3 weeks-1 month, but the Level Up promotion was more than that. MUCH more.

I think action would do better closer to primetime. Then again, Cartoon Network has given their action lineup very little promotion. Worst case scenario is CN dropping the block entirely to get in front of Nick on Saturday's. Although, CN still has new programming for DC, and hasn't messed with Saturday morning's action alignment in a while. Putting some comedy lead-ins and adding promotional time could really help DC Nation.
Wow! Total Drama Revenge of the Island did really good (3.3 Million), making it's own records for the year. The 40%+ drop between it and Level Up isn't that pretty though. I know CN really wants it be popular, but I'm sure even they expected more than 1.9 Million after having a lead-in pulling awesome numbers like that. I'm sure a rerun of some of their best comedy shows could have done better. Level Up doesn't seem to be doing any better in reruns with kids on Saturday losing about 40%+ in K6-11 ratings points after an impressive Johnny Test rerun. I know LU has won kids here and there, but the actual numbers aren't that impressive.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
