CN Ratings Thread: Part 13

Rags obviously effected Monday night comedies. Yet, Cartoon Network did pretty well Monday night. There was though competition that day with Rags so it'd be hard to dismiss AO as a loser just yet, However there were a lot of viewers lost during it's airing, effecting MAD in the next time slot. Gumball rerun scored #1 in K2-11 which is a pretty hard demo to win. Level Up won kids in it's own time slot. It seems a bit awkward that when CN's animated programming is doing their worst Level Up is doing it's best, but on weeks like when Mondays do their best at around 2.5 Million for AT & RS, Level Up does it's worst. I'd also note that Level Up recieves episodic promos for reruns. Gumball mainly gets generic rerun promos and not as often as Level Up does.

Rags obviously effected Monday night comedies.

I'm not sure Rags has much to do with it. The movie's premiere only got 3.436 million viewers which in all honesty isn't really that great considering how much promotion Nickelodeon gave it.

Rags did terrible considering Shriek 2's premiere on Cartoon Network who only had one week of promotion got 3.5 million viewers.

Nice try...

As usual Regular Show is doing perfect, so nothing new for my favorite show there.

Gumball however im rather impressed considering it got that rank despite constant re-runs and (in my opinion) lame promos. I was worried the show wasn't liked well enough in the States after no new episodes for months, but there i was, totally wrong again.

Level Up, it was a nice try. And i'll still never get why Generator Rex dropped so low..

Cartoon Network seems to show up in these charts a lot more often than they used to.

Ouch for Legend of Korra on Nick. Great job Cartoon Network, crushing Legend of Korra, The Penguins of Madagascar, Power Rangers Samurai, and the 12:30 airing of Spongebob with Adventure Time. Cartoon Network also almost crushed Austin & Ally on Disney Channel, and almost crushed A.N.T. Farm and Wizards of Waverly Place. Johnny Test killed T.U.F.F. Puppy at 7am on Nickelodeon. Cartoon Network's ratings are doing really good while Nickelodeon and Disney Channel are declining.

To note: Adventure Time's ratings were averaged, as it aired without specific start times on the half hour, an episode would sometimes start at for example 11:22.

I think Korra was in repeats that week so a 2.0 in the K6-11 isn't too bad at all <cough> beat some of CN's premiers <cough>

Though I do wish Green Lantern's numbers were higher. Especially for season finale. The show has promise. I would really like to see Volpe, Timm and Co get the opportunity to tell some amazing stories set in the GL world for at least a full 52 episode series run.

Adventure Time with the 2.6! They really should try out some more comedies in Sat. morning.

It's nice to see CN doing great here, but I just wish the premieres were a bigger part of it. Though it does explain even further why Adventure Time and Johnny Test have so many rerun slots and are even getting marathons in the weekends.

And ThunderCats was off to such a good start in that slot.

Damn, Green Lantern is doing terrible in reruns already.

YJ sure has an impressive amount of adult viewers.

Cartoon Network beat Nickelodeon in both kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 on Thursday, Friday, and Monday, and was close to beating Disney Channel in tweens 9-14 on Thursday.

Monday night:

Regular Show (8pm-NEW) 2.585 million viewers, 0.451 million adults 18-49 (0.4 rating)

MAD (8:30pm-NEW) 1.992 million viewers, 0.285 million adults 18-49 (0.2 rating)

MAD (8:30pm-NEW) 1.992 million viewers, 0.285 million adults 18-49 (0.2 rating)

MAD did so much better without The Annoying Orange as a lead-in show. I honestly think Cartoon Network should keep the Monday night schedule this way and put The Annoying Orange on another night.

I think we can all agree on that one. This is one of the times that I really don't get CN. They've seen how well AD, RS and MAD can do together, and they've seen how badly it affects MAD to put it at 8:45 serveral times. You would've thought they had learned by now.

At least they could try with a more "normal" animated show if anything, I actually think that plays a big role here, but I'd rather have they don't try doing this anymore.

And I know we can't judge AO completely yet, but I have a pretty good idea by now.

Even though MAD dropped quite a bit after Regular Show, MAD got some pretty darn good ratings.

I hope we get to see the ratings of Total Drama: Revenge of the Island, even though it's not in primetime.

The main reason 8:30pm drops is because of movies airing on Disney Channel. MAD was promoted this time. Beauty in the Beast aired on Disney Channel which got 2.4 million viewers.

That 8:30 movie is rather problematic for CN premieres on weekdays. I guess that's just the way it goes but unless Annoying Orange really takes off it's going to hurt MAD like so many other shows that momentarily aired between RS and MAD.

However if 8:30 is the real problem then the solution might be as simple as running all the premieres 7:30-8:30 and putting a rerun at 8:30.

I see looking at Disney's schedule they often enough start movies at 9PM but sometimes they have them earlier in prime time. I guess there isn't much they can do to plan against that but 8:30 has been known to lose ratings from the 8PM lead so there must be some constant problem 8:30 is facing.

While it's true that the movie might play a big role, they're no doubt that placing something between RS and MAD really hurts MAD, and they should stop always doing that.

IMO the ratings were a lot more consistent when they aired back to back premieres, I think the repeats in between could really mess with ratings. It'd also be a good idea to air commercials in between a segment so that each show flows right into the next.

I wish Imgur wasn't allowed on this forum until the time is right for a return since it's been unavailable in the UK since last September, so I don't see why people use links from the site for here when it's no longer available in the UK and I'm really angry that their parent company made this stupid decision.

MeTV Toons is a great channel when it comes to classic cartoons, but we know it can be way better. The Duck4Real (me!) elaborates on this in his latest YouTube vlog. Watch it!
