WBD Acquisition Thread

I misunderstood. But then again Paramount's licensing to local terrestrial TV here is limited nowadays. It's largely because the terrestrial market isn't interested in US content anymore
...Meanwhile, in UK and Italy, WBD thrives. And, let's not forget, TVN in Poland!
Paramount closing any of those things would do irreversible damage.

Yeah, since factual channels don't have good ratings, I think that CN is their most watched channel here

"Paramount's Apparent Victory" makes me think that the Paramount brands will become a priority at the merged corporation

I have a feeling that Paramount would close the TCM channels WBD has outside the US, and at best case, merge the European Warner TV channels into one feed, somehow like how TCM Pan-Euro was.

There are few TCM channels outside the US now. TCM was failing in Europe as of late

Paramount-Warner will have many animation and children’s/teen channels.

USA
1. Nickelodeon
2. Nicktoons
3. Nick Jr.
4. TeenNick
5. NickMusic
6. Cartoon Network/Adult Swim
7. Boomerang
8. Discovery Family (partner with Hasbro)
9. Discovery Familia
10. MeTV Toons (partner with Weigel)

Europe
1. Nickelodeon
2. Nick Jr.
3. Nicktoons
4. Cartoon Network
5. Cartoonito

Additionally, in some countries (Europe)
Boomerang
Nick Jr. Too
TeenNick
Boing
K2
Frisbee

I could honestly see CN biting the dust entirely and Adult Swim becoming 24 hours

Any remaining currently running CN show would move to airing on Nickelodeon, Reruns of older CN shows would air on Nicktoons.

That's just how I feel could happen, considering CN has been dying the past few years, they barely have any shows airing new episodes, they have became a rerun farm basically, and they have lost more and more time to AS over the years.

Also, HBO Max is gonna be a really short lived streaming service in the UK, considering Ellison wants to shut it down in favor of Paramount+.

Back in October, Paramount said that it will close it down: Paramount CEO wants to kill HBO Max, merge content into Paramount Plus

Sorry for double-post, but:

Who thinks otherwise?
Yeah, that's exactly what I was referring to. I just didn't feel like putting it in such blunt terms.

The site WBD created to encourage the vote of Netflix's bid is still up, at the moment.
And now they closed it.

It was obvious since Netflix gave up first :))))))

Don't forget K2 and Frisbee in Italy.
Which just adds up to the amount of redundant-ish channels they have in Italy. I doubt that the merged company would improve the chanenls.

Even K2 has been in a state of decay for purists of the network.

Without any further discussions it's clear that PSKY will have to close a lot of redundant channels. Now what channels they find redundant or useless, part two.

Like I said before, there is a lot of useless side MTV channels still broadcasting in 4:3, better close them, that's just the beginning.

"Paramount Wins WB Tug Of War After Netflix Lets Go Of The Rope"

"Earlier today, Warner Bros announced they were looking into Paramount Skydance’s latest bid to buy them and were giving the other party, Netflix, four days to counter-bid. It seemed like that increased bid would be inevitable — they wanted this, didn’t they? — but about an hour later, Netflix came out and just said “nah, y’know what, it’s not worth it.”

Paramount’s pursuit of WB was one of the most aggressive displays the business world has seen for a while, and it was due to the fact they could potentially lose. Its very loud, very spoiled manchild owner David Ellison has been making a scene for months, angry that anybody could possibly take away something he wanted. He pushed the company further and further into debt by increasing his bid for WB every hour, even attempting a corporate takeover."

Now unsatisfied with Paramount who is smaller? Sheesh....

I hated cinema because of these, and entertainment cinema is already dead, there are no movies like the 90s and 2000s, color grading is disgusting. And we are dealing with these arrogance.
